Based on the podcast In Dogs We Trust from This American Life, which told of stories of pets changing the family dynamics for better or for worse, this project was a response to how some pets are treated like humans or even better than their human companions.
Reflecting on how some people prefer the companionship of animals rather than fellow humans, I created an app that allows a user to "date" animals before adopting them. Fairytail draws inspiration from other dating apps that allow swiping right for interest and swiping left for disinterest. Instead of allowing users to see an image before swiping, the app shows a personal description of the animal to give everyone an equal and honest chance.
